Public libraries in Kosovo are developing their projects with technological equipment donated by Kosova Makers League

Digital Citizen is a project launched by IRIM – Croatian Makers (Institute for Youth Development and Innovation) in Croatia and supported by Google.

The regional project is implemented in four Balkan countries (Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia) and aims to increase the competencies and digital knowledge of the societies in these countries – for children and adults – through public libraries, empowering them to become digital centers of innovation and thus make modern technologies more accessible to all.

Through the project “DIGITAL CITIZEN” we have donated to 10 public libraries in Kosovo educational equipment like – “micro: bits”, 3D printer, “DIY” electronic parts and we have also organized free educational workshops for librarians.

During the pandemic period, the 10 Kosovo public libraries involved in this project are developing their digital competencies through the creation of various projects with the educational equipment which we have shared with them.

Following the normalization of the pandemic situation in the country, librarians will organize free coding and 3D printing workshops for the public (children and adults) in their libraries.
