Qendra e Inovacionit Gracanica do të përfaqësoj Kosovën në Garën Botërore të Robotikës 2019 në Guangzhou, Kinë.

BONEVET is pleased to announce that children from Gracanica Innovation Center in Gracanica, who represented Kosovo at the Regional Robotics Competition in Zagreb in October 2019, have qualified for the World Robotics Competition in China, to be held in the end of November, 2019.

On behalf of the KML and BONEVET staff, we congratulate the team from Gracanica for this great achievement and wish them luck in the upcoming race in China. We also want to take this opportunity to congratulate all students, parents, staff, mentors and volunteers, who worked hard throughout the year, enabling Kosovo to participate in such important competitions.

To summarize the whole journey of the team from Gracanica, we conducted an interview with Milan Stojanovic – mentor of the team “Gracanica Innovation Center”.

Interviewer: How did you decide to become part of the KML-Open Robotics Competition?

Milan: We are a small group of young creators from Gracanica. Last year we visited the BONEVET incentive space in Pristina, and their staff invited us to be part of the pilot project of the Robotic Race in Kosovo. We accepted the invitation and became part of this competition.

Interviewer: Describe your journey from the first round of the Robotics Competition in Kosovo to the Regional one in Croatia.

Milan: At first it was challenging, as we were not equipped enough on the technical side in Gracanica. Therefore, we had to send the children to BONEVET and use their training environment. Along the way, the dedication and perseverance of the children and mentors, achieved a good result. After each round, it was easier for us and the kids got better at programming. The team’s tireless work was rewarded with second place in the KML final.

Interviewer: Please share with us the process of preparing for the Regional Competition in Croatia?

Milan: Due to equipment delays, we only had a few days to prepare the children for the Regional Competition in Croatia. With parental permission, we worked extra hours, every day, and the children made up for lost time.
Interviewer: Can you share with us your experience in Croatia during the Regional Competition?

Milan: After arriving at the airport, we toured the city of Zagreb, the Nikola Tesla Museum, and visited other sights. The next day, the MAKEX race awaited us. It was an extraordinary experience for me and the students. It was the first time for us to be part of such a competition.

Interviewer: On behalf of KML, we wish the team from Gracanica a safe and successful trip to the World Robotics Competition in Guangzhou, China. Last but not least, our thanks go to the donors and sponsors of the race, without whom the success of this race would have been impossible.
